Social for New Board Members

The new board is meeting at Red Studio Farm on December 5th from 2-4pm, the Washington CT home of the new president Joe Mustich, and his spouse Ken Cornet.

The primary purpose of the get together, is a social one, so that board members can get to know each other better, and to start planning an agenda and goals for 2011. Some agenda items include; when and where to meet and how often; future talks, lectures, and social events, including planning for the anti-bully/domestic violence film series, classes and talks.

Retired Mancester Police Captain Joseph Brooks of LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition) delivered a powerful talk on reforming America's narcotic laws.

ACLU NWCT Chapter Annual Meeting & Talk on October 5th

The ACLU NW CT Chapter will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday, October 5 th, starting at 7:15pm at the Litchfield Inn on Bantam Road (Route 202) in Litchfield, CT. Retired CT Police Officier and LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition) member Joseph Brooks will give a talk about LEAP. Screening of "Deadline" on September 16th 6 pm

There will be a screening of the award winning documentary Deadline on Thursday, September 16 th, at 6pm, at the Oliver Wolcott Library, 160 South Street, Litchfield, Connecticut.

The screening is free and open to the public, and a Q&A will follow with a number of special guests present to answer questions.

Screening of "Deadline" on September 16th 6 pm

The NW CT Chapter will screen the movie Deadline on Thursday, September 16th, from 6 - 8:30 pm, at the Oliver Wolcott Library on South St in Litchfield, CT. Deadline is about the death penalty. The screening is free and open to the public. A Q & A will following the screening. Details to follow shortly.

While our chapter has been meeting monthly since February, and we hosted a wonderful talk by the ACLU's general counsel Norman Dissen in April, I have been remiss in updating our blog.

Our next chapter meeting is scheduled for Tuesday February 2, 2010 in the Tack Room of the Litchfield Inn, located at 432 Bantam Rd (Route 202) in Litchfield, CT. The meeting is free and open to the public, and starts at 7:15pm.
